The third edition of Publiek Park, a unique art exhibition featuring both international and local contemporary artists, opens on 27 June. The participating artists respond to the specific context of two historically connected sites: Meise Botanic Garden and the Botanique in Brussels. The exhibition features installations that explore how the environment is changing, what traces of architecture remain, and what history the sites carry with them.
Each artist presents work at both locations, developing site-specific installations that engage with the unique characteristics of each place. In Meise Botanic Garden, Publiek Park unfolds as a walking route that guides visitors from a colonial past toward imaginative futures — and from botanical research to reflections on contemporary life.
At the Botanique in Brussels, a dynamic programme of short-term, time-based works will take place over the course of eleven days. In parallel with the exhibition, an engaging public programme is being developed in collaboration with a range of partners.
This year’s edition takes place in two parts. The first chapter opens on 27 June in Meise Botanic Garden and runs until 28 September. The second chapter begins on 3 September at the Botanical Garden (Botanique) in Brussels, offering a temporary programme spanning eleven days.
Publiek Park invites visitors to slow down, imagine, and connect — at the heart of both nature and the city.
